I Heart Box Wine

http://www.bighousewines.com/wines/

Especially the Big House Box Red. I have not tried their bottled wine before, but they like many other companies are branching out into boxed wine.
This wine is a mix of everything, Varieties: 27% Petite Sirah, 14.5% Syrah, 8.6% Montepulciano, 8.2% Barbera, 6.4% Nero d’Avola, 6.1% Tempranillo, 3.3% Malbec, 2.4% Aglianico, 2.4% Souzao, 2.3% Charbono, 2.2% Petite Verdot, 2.1% Cabernet Franc, 2% Tannat, 12.5% Other Esoteric Reds.... I have no idea what half of those are, but I do know I like Syrah, Malbec and Petite Sirah, so how could I go wrong with this wine?

I can't wait to try the other varieties, this one has definitely jumped to the top of my list. The bottles sell for $10-$12 and the box is only $22...definitely a better deal if you go straight for the box!

On a scale of 1 – 5... I give this one a 5

Oaky – 1
Dry – 1
Sweet - 2
Consistent across boxes? To be determined....who wants to drink some wine?!
Yellow and Blue 2009 Torrontes

I have never heard of Yellow + Blue wine, so I thought I'd give it a try. I served it during a dinner with friends and still have about 3/4 left. The color of the wine concerned me, it is very yellow. Even the website mentions that it may have a hint of green color... Green wine...not appealing. The smell is sweet and the wine is more like a dry Pinot Grigio.

After a quick internet search on this brand, it comes highly recommended by a few. I am going to attempt to find the Rose or Malbec and give this brand another try, but will be throwing out what is left of this box.
